When we returned to Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica for our Retie the Knot ceremony, one of the places we had to visit was the Jerk Shack at Sandals Resorts. When we first visited the resort back in 1997 (yes, well over 20 years ago) we did not discover the deliciousness that was jerk chicken until the day we left.
We had no idea what we were missing, and we have been longing for it ever since we left our honeymoon. We had always talked about going back to Sandals Resorts for our 20th anniversary, and we are so glad we did. We had to enjoy the Jerk Shack at Sandals Resorts the second day we were there.

Doesn’t this look delicious? The sauce I had with my chicken is mild, and let me tell you, it was SPICY! The do have a hellfire version of it, but I was not brave enough to try it. Let me know if you do!
The dipping sauce on the side is perfect for the hard dough bread. Did I mention that you should be enjoying this with a Rum Runner? If rum isn’t your thing, make sure you try a Purple Rain, it is my husband’s favorite. Or my second favorite, a Dirty Banana.

I have recently fallen in love with the sausage at the Jerk Shack and enjoyed it at our recent trip to Sandals Royal Barbados.
Hubs stuck with the jerk chicken, and it was simply amazing!
The only thing I have not tried yet is the fish in foil. I think I am going to remedy that during our upcoming trip to Sandals Dunn’s River. A new resort, a first-time butler stay, so let’s do something new with lunch.

The only sad thing about Sandals Resorts is that not every location has a Jerk Shack, which is a sad thought. However, I am sure it is something they are working on in future renovations. At least, I hope so!
