Swim Up Lover’s Lagoon Honeymoon Club Level HR At Sandals Grande St. Lucian Room Review
Heading to St. Lucia? Can’t decide which room at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian you want to stay in? Here is my honest review of the Swim Up Lover’s Lagoon Honeymoon Club Level HR At Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The perfect way to spoil yourself without breaking the budget.
Let me preface this post by saying that this was the first time we have ever stayed in a swim up room at Sandals Resorts. In fact, this is the room that has started my obsession with swim up rooms and why we have booked the Royal Seaside Swim-up Club Level Ultra Suite w/ Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub at Sandals Royal Barbados in July 2023.
Getting the Best Deal at Sandals Grande Saint Lucian
After deciding on the resort, we booked our trip directly on Sandals.com. We always check for the weekly 777 deal before booking to save on our room rate or other promotions going on, which you can see here.
Alternatively, you can always contact us to help you book your trip to Sandals, making sure you get the best price possible.
Post note: the pictures from this trip were from August 2021, so if you are interested in traveling during this time of year, it will give you an idea of the sun patterns in the swim up areas. I will tell you it was H-O-T!
Where Are The Swim Up Lover’s Lagoon Honeymoon Club Level HR Rooms Located?
These wonderful rooms are located in 3 buildings at the resort: the Massade building, the Monchy building, and the Rodney Bay building. These rooms are located near the front of the resort on the Atlantic Ocean side of the resort, and do not have any kind of oceanview.
Each building kind of has its pros & cons. If you want all day sun, opt for the Monchy building. If you prefer some afternoon shade, then you would want to request the Massade building or Rodney Bay.
Being near the entrance, you can hear the noise from arriving and departing guests. While it never really bothered me, if you like quiet, then make sure you request the Rodney Bay building. The great thing about this location is you can hear the evening entertainment in the living room while you are floating around in the swim up.
Which leads me to my next point.
These Rooms Are Perfect For Night Swimming
I think night swimming is what REALLY turned me on to having a swim up. There is nothing like floating at night, and seeing a blanket of stars above your head while you just relax and breathe. Or, in my case, enjoy yet another adult beverage from our in-room bar.
The Bathroom Area For The Swim Up Lover’s Lagoon Club Level Room
I really enjoyed the bathroom here at the resort. It is well appointed, and extremely functional. For instance, the sink was ideal for getting ready.
I love that the counter is flat, and there is so much space on the ledge to keep all your bathroom necessities. On a side note, Sandals provides basic toiletries. Recently they changed the brand from the wonderful lemongrass scents to a more masculine scented product. I don’t like it, so I bring my own bathroom products. I really wish they would go back to the original Red Lane Spa products.
There is a nice walk-in shower as well. So, if you have mobility issues where a step-in tub may be difficult, this is a great option for you.
More About The Bedroom And Closet Area In The Room
In the bedroom area, it is your typical set up. You have your closet which has your robes and room safe, and generally a luggage rack and an umbrella. Of course, there is is the large & comfy king bed.
Keep in mind, these beds are REALLY high. If you are short like me (I am under 5 feet), you may want to ask for a step stool. I ended up using the sideboard to launch myself into bed each night, and ended up with a couple of bruises on my shins by the end of our week.
Bar & TV Area In The Swim Up Lover’s Lagoon Room
The room has a standard TV stand which triples as your bar and storage space. I have mentioned in my other Sandals room reviews that there just isn’t enough drawer space in the rooms. While we don’t bring a super large amount of clothing, we still have enough that needs drawer space.
There Is A Sitting Area In The Room
There is a small sofa with a coffee table in your room as well. Because of the limited drawer space, this did end up as a catch all for clothing and other items.
You will also find a desk and chair on the other side of the room. The chair ended up being where we kept our dirty laundry, and I used the desk for my travel power strip to charge all of our electronics.
More About The Patio Area
We loved the patio area. There is a table with two chairs, which was really nice to sit out at night or before dinner.
There is also a drying rack which really came in handy for our bathing suits.
It’s All About The Lagoon In The Swim Up Lover’s Lagoon Club Level Room
Without a doubt, this is the reason why you book this room: the amazing lagoon swimming area!

Important Thoughts
A few final thoughts about this room:
- I don’t know if the Club Sandals staff was having an off week when it came to filling the beverages, but we had such trouble. Even after using the LOOP and calling the club lounge. It won’t stop us from booking this room again, but I do know that I will be more proactive about getting our bar filled.
- Know before you go that the swim ups aren’t as crystal clear as the regular pool.
- These rooms are older, and there were areas of cracked tiles and other areas that needed a little TLC.
- Depending what room you are in, you can hear the service carts early in the morning.
- Guests walking through the halls aren’t always the most considerate, and things tend to echo, especially late at night.
