Have you ever been to Sandals Resorts? We have been, once in 1997 for our honeymoon, and again in 2017 for our 20th wedding anniversary. We always said that we would come back, and I am so glad that we did. It was absolutely amazing, and relaxing, and, well, perfect.
I have to admit, I am not a seasoned world traveler, but it is on my bucket list to visit as many Caribbean islands as I possibly can. Our kids are in college (and almost in college), so it is time for my husband and I to try our hand at traveling. If you are a first-time traveler to the islands, the resort chain is a perfect way to start.

First and foremost, what is Club Sandals? Club Sandals has to be one of the best ways to start your resort vacation. If you have ever been to the Caribbean, then you know how HOT it can get there. Club Sandals is an air-conditioned lounge that you use to check into the resort. It is a great place to relax after your flight and get yourself ready for an amazing vacation.
The whole door screams “Welcome”!! It was such a welcome sight since the last time we were on the resort was 20 years ago. So having a glass of champagne(on top of our rum punch) was heavenly. I may have mentioned before that the Jamaican hospitality is like no other I have experienced, and Club Sandals at Sandals Resorts is the first step in your Caribbean experience.
We had a large group that came in at the same time, so we had to sit outside before they called us in to check in. We didn’t care, we were in paradise!

More About The Lounge
The lounge itself is wonderful. After you check in on the I-Pad, make sure you take a moment to make your dinner reservations with a concierge member. Some of the restaurants book up quickly, so doing it first thing cuts down on the stress.
There are also some comfy couches and a nice TV to watch. You can also find board games to play and books to read. If you take a book with you, but don’t want to drag it back home, dropping it in the Club Sandals lounge lending library is a great way to save space and bless someone else.
What Happens When You Arrive?
- You are greeted on arrival by a Club Sandals Concierge.
- They serve you cold/warm towels on arrival (varies by resort).
- Privately checked in at the Lounge.
- Escorted to your room by Club Sandals Concierge and receive a Club Sandals welcome packet.
- Private Resort Orientation by Club Sandals Concierge.
We had a wonderful staff member escort us to our room and explain all the amenities Club Sandals at Sandals Resorts has to offer. But, before we headed to our room, we booked our restaurants and snorkeling excursion. We also met our on-site wedding planner who was handling our vow renewal.
There are also snacks and drinks available to you. Let me tell you, some of those pastries are going to knock your sock off the second you try them.
