Valentine’s Day is approaching, and I have gotten to the point in my life where I would rather stay in then go out and spend a fortune on a meal. Dessert is always a big part of that meal, so having some options to make at home for a lot less are just what I like. I think this recipe fits the bill well.

I don’t know about where you live, but it is fully a Winter wonderland in my part of the world. And when you are a Summer gal, it’s hard. I just want to be at my favorite vacation place with my husband and just reconnecting. As much as I want to go out for a nice meal on Valentine’s Day, staying in and enjoying a meal at home will help us save for our next trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mousse The Same As Pudding?

The consistency of pudding is more solid, while mousse has a fluffier consistency and lighter texture.

Do I Need To Cook The Mousse?

Absolutely not! That is what makes this recipe so popular because it doesn’t require any cooking except to make the raspberry layer.

Why Did My White Chocolate Mousse Separate?

It’s possible that the water content of the cream is causing the chocolate to seize and the mousse to separate if it only has 32% fat (if it whips to soft peaks, it probably has stabilizers or thickeners added).

Why Is White Chocolate So Hard To Melt?

A microwave operating at high heat can easily overheat white chocolate, since it melts at a much lower temperature than other types of chocolate. Ensure the chocolate melts quickly, but not fast enough to damage its flavor or consistency, by turning the microwave down to medium or low power.

What Is The Easiest White Chocolate To Melt?

For a smooth melted texture, use white chocolate chunks or a bar rather than white chocolate chips. Chips have preservatives and stabilizers that keep them from melting as well as chunks or a bar will.
