Whether butler service at Sandals is worth it depends on you and the type of vacation experience you’re looking for.

Some people love butler service and the feeling of having someone on standby to help you during your stay. Some people find butler service intrusive and awkward.

If you want to stay in the biggest and most luxurious suite and have a team of butlers to spoil you and make your trip easier, then it might be for you. If you do not like having someone checking in on you regularly and do not want the big suite, then it may not be. You can still get room service in club level rooms, and both those and the entry level rooms also come with all the standard Sandals inclusions.

For us, we love the nicer Butler Elite rooms, but how much we take advantage of butler service varies by resort. Each trip is different. We let the butler know we aren’t very high maintenance and will leave the butler’s phone in our room sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we tip any less.

Is Butler Service Worth It Overview

While staying at a Sandals resort is already luxurious and relaxing, butler service can elevate your experience, making you feel completely pampered and indulged. While it’s often a popular choice for honeymoons and anniversary celebrations, it will make any vacation even more amazing.

In order to get butler service, you need to book a butler level suite. Butler accommodations, also known as Butler Elite, are the best suites available at a Sandals resort and the most expensive. They are often unique in design and always the largest and swankiest of the suites.

Guests in butler suites also enjoy a weekly cocktail party as well as access to all of the Club Sandals activities.

Sandals Butler Service Cost

There isn’t a clear cost to butler service, since it’s included in the cost of a Butler Elite room. However, these rooms are the best ones at each resort, and they have the highest rates.

You’ll also need to tip your butlers (see below), so be sure to factor that in to your budget.

Sandals Butler Service Tipping

While all Sandals resorts have a no-tipping policy, this doesn’t apply to butler suites. You should tip your butler, and while Sandals doesn’t give guidelines, we suggest a tip of $25 per day. If your butler goes above and beyond, be sure to show your appreciation with a higher tip.

What is included in butler service?

There is a huge variety of services your butler can provide. How much they do really depends on personal preference. We tend to only use them for a few things:

• Making dinner reservations
• Reserving pool or beach chairs
• Bringing us lunch during the day
• Bringing drinks occasionally
• Bringing us dinner once or twice in our room during our stay

One of the best services butlers at Sandals provide is making dinner, spa, and excursion reservations. This can save you a ton of time and hassle, and they are often able to get you the best tables and times for dinner.

Butlers also focus on delivering excellent service by not only meeting your needs but also anticipating them. The butlers at Sandals make a point of going above and beyond to make your time as special as possible. This includes extras like having a hot bubble bath ready when you return to your suite, sprinkling rose petals on the bed, and bringing you surprise treats just because.

Butler service at Sandals starts the moment you arrive. When you arrive, your butler will come take you directly to your suite where you can enjoy the check-in process in privacy and comfort—no standing around in the lobby after you’ve been traveling all day. They also handle getting your luggage to your room.

In your suite, they will make sure everything is to your liking and give you an orientation to the resort. Your butler can also unpack for you, iron your clothes, and make dinner, spa, and excursion reservations. They are experts on the resort and the area, so they can save you a ton of time and effort by recommending the perfect restaurants, services, and activities for you.

You’ll get a cell phone you can use to contact your butler at any time. You can have room service 24 hours a day, and can arrange for special meals like a romantic breakfast in bed or elegant dinner on your balcony. Your butler will set everything up and make it as magical as possible.

• Tip – If you do not want to be contacted by your butler, let them know you may leave your phone in the room sometimes.

You can also request food and drinks to be brought to you at the pool or on the beach. You’ll even get the best seats at dinner, and can ask to be taken there (or anywhere on the resort you like) via golf cart if you wish. If you have special requests for your meals, your butler will discuss them personally with the chefs. Another wonderful option your butler can arrange is a private dinner on the beach.

Other butler services include reserving chairs or cabanas by the pool or at the beach on your behalf so you can sleep in and relax and preparing a cooler of snacks and drinks to enjoy while there. Additionally, they can provide turndown service each evening and will make sure that your suite is kept just how you like it by the housekeeping staff.

At the end of your stay, your butler can help you pack and will handle all the check-out and departure arrangements. They’ll even get your bags to the departure area and escort you to your airport transportation. At some resorts, this will be a private transfer in a luxury vehicle like a BMW or Rolls Royce.

Butler Level Suites

What we really love about butler level suites are the rooms themselves.

These are the absolute best that Sandals has to offer, and they usually include extras like private pools in addition to tons of space and gorgeous views. Some of the top butler suites, also called Love Nest Suites, are the overwater bungalows, Rondovals, Oceanview Bluff Millionaire Villas, penthouse suites, villas, and SkyPool Suites.

In your butler level suite, you’ll get a full bar stocked with the premium liquor of your choice (in addition to the usual Robert Mondavi wines, beer, soda, and juice). You can also make special requests for anything that you would like to have in terms of snacks.

Best Sandals Resort for Butler Service

It’s really impossible to choose the best Sandals resort for butler service, as the butlers at every Sandals location are outstanding. However, some resorts are better than others for butlers.

• Sandals Royal Plantation – Every room is a butler suite here, and since the resort is small so your butler knows where you are and can provide amazing service.
• Sandals Barbados & Royal Barbados – This resort has the most sought-after beach chairs so a butler will make getting those chairs easy.
• Sandals Negril – This is a relaxed environment; having a butler around so you can spend more time in your suite makes a difference.

Can you add butler service to any Sandals room?

No, you can only get butler service in a butler-level suite at Sandals Resorts.

Is Butler Service Worth It at Sandals Conclusion

Whether butler service is worth it at Sandals resorts depends on you and the type of experience you want. Would you appreciate all of the added service and attention, or would you rather be left alone? Would you rather have a larger, nicer room, or are you ok with a Club or Luxury level room?

If you love the idea of getting special surprises, being able to request food and drink at any time, getting the best beach and pool chairs without having to get up early, and having all your reservations made for you, then butler service is worth it for you.

If you don’t plan to be in your room much, don’t mind getting up early to reserve beach or pool chairs, and don’t feel like the special treatment is worth the extra expense, then butler service is probably not for you. However, if you want to have room service, you’ll need to book at least a club level room since luxury and premium rooms do not offer that.
