How Many Sandals Resorts Are in Jamaica?
Jamaica is where the Sandals brand started, and it has the most Sandals resorts of any Caribbean island. There are 7 Sandals resorts in Jamaica, located in four areas: Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, and Whitehouse on the southern coast.
These include one of the newest Sandals resorts, Sandals Dunn’s River; the most affordable Sandals resort, Sandals Ochi; and the very first Sandals resort, Sandals Montego Bay.
Two of the Sandals resorts in Jamaica have overwater bungalows, one has a private island, and several are located close enough to each other to offer exchange privileges.
We have visited all of them, and each one has its own vibe and appeal. Here is an overview of each of the Jamaica Sandals resorts.

Sandals resorts in Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Sandals Dunn’s River
The newest Sandals resort in Jamaica, Sandals Dunn’s River is our new favorite. It features almost all new restaurant concepts with some of the best food at any Sandals, cool unique bars with craft cocktails, excellent service, fun pools, and incredible luxury suites. These include the first-ever Coyaba Sky Rondovals, which have private pool sanctuaries and swim-up access to a river pool, as well as huge rooftop terraces with oversized soaking tubs.
Sandals Royal Plantation
One of our picks for the best Sandals in Jamaica for honeymoons, Sandals Royal Plantation has just 74 oceanfront suites and they all come with personal butler service for a truly pampered stay. It’s an elegant resort with a champagne and caviar bar and pretty, private beaches. You also get access to all the activities at nearby Sandals Ochi, which is the largest Sandals resort, as well as complimentary golf at a championship course.
Sandals Ochi
The largest and cheapest Sandals resort, Sandals Ochi has 16 restaurants, 11 bars, and tons of things to do. It is divided into two sections, a vibrant area along the beach with a fun beach club and a more quiet area on the hillside. It also includes complimentary golf (but guests here do not have access to Sandals Royal Plantation).

Sandals resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica
Sandals Montego Bay
The first Sandals resort, Sandals Montego Bay was recently renovated and is a lively, beautiful resort that makes the most of its beachfront location with cool amenities like an overwater bar and an overwater wedding chapel. It’s the closest Sandals in Jamaica to the airport (just 5 minutes away), which is convenient but also means you can hear some plane noise during the day. It includes access to all the amenities and activities at nearby Sandals Royal Caribbean.
Sandals Royal Caribbean
One of the Sandals resorts in Jamaica with overwater bungalows, Sandals Royal Caribbean is another top choice for honeymoons. The bungalows are set on a private island, which also has a pool, swim-up bar, beaches with cabanas, and an excellent Thai restaurant. SRC also includes access to all the amenities and activities at nearby Sandals Montego Bay.
Sandals resorts in Negril, Jamaica
Sandals Negril
Set on famous Seven Mile Beach, Sandals Negril is a great choice for couples who love watersports. You can snorkel from the beach here, and motorized watersports like waterskiing and kneeboarding are available in addition to the usual nonmotorized activities. Some new restaurant options and accommodations have recently been added. We loved the new Spanish tapas restaurant and the incredible Skypool suites, which have great views from elevated balconies with private infinity pools. You can also go to nearby Beaches Negril.

Sandals resorts in Whitehouse, Jamaica
Sandals South Coast
Another top choice for honeymoons, Sandals South Coast is nestled in a secluded nature reserve along a pristine 2-mile white-sand beach. This peaceful resort also features the overwater bungalows as well as the Caribbean’s longest river pool. Many of the accommodations have been updated recently. Our only con was that the drive from the airport is long and along winding roads, so we got motion sick. (We recommend taking Dramamine.) Also, this resort is pretty far from any offsite activities or sights.
