The staff at Club Mobay can be tipped. There is no set amount, so you can tip what you feel comfortable with. We usually tip our escort from the plane & our server in the lounge.
Our Experience After Deplaning
After we got off the plane and started walking into the airport, our escort Julia met us with a sign and a huge smile.
First thing she did was check our customs and immigrations form. After just one quick fix, we were on our way to the customs desk. While the line was fairly short for customs, it was still nice to get escorted to the front of the line. After just a few short moments, we were headed to baggage claim.
Julia helped us find our luggage, and then escorted us through immigrations. We had nothing to declare so we passed right through. Then we headed to the Sandals lounge to check-in. Julia checked us in, waited until our bags were tagged, then escorted us next door to the Club Mobay Arrival Lounge.
Experiencing the Club Mobay Arrival Lounge:
After giving us the envelope we needed for the departure lounge, she then turned over to the capable hands of the Arrival Lounge staff. And it was wonderful service from start to finish.
The first thing we received was a cup of rum punch. I was waiting for this from the moment we heard about the Club Mobay Arrival Lounge. And let me tell you, it absolutely did not disappoint and was so worth the wait! I have to admit ahead of time that it was my favorite drink during the trip.
After enjoying our first cup, one of the nice gentleman in the lounge(so sorry we didn’t catch his name), took our Tervis cups to fill them for the road. We were SO appreciative of it! In the meantime, we were very quickly served a second cup. Yay!
Once we enjoyed our first drink, we headed over to check out the complimentary foods that were available. There was a nice selection of finger foods and desserts. It was the perfect snack to hold us over until we reached the resort.
Having pastries laced with rum is definitely a great way to start your vacation! About 15 minutes later, our transportation was called and we were headed to the resort.
In case you need to wait longer, there is a TV and comfortable seats in the lounge.
Here is an example of all the foods you may find at any given time, subject to availability of course. There may be salads & pasta, sandwich wraps, and sandwiches. Beverages include rum punch, Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light, Rum & Cokes, sodas, lemonade, water, and coffee & tea. It is just the right amount to satisfy your appetite after you get off the plane and wait to get to your resort.
Our Thoughts On This Service
We cannot recommend this service enough. We have been to Jamaica 4 times, and another one coming up soon. The only time we didn’t use this service was in 1997 because it was not even thought of yet. In fact, we always say that we won’t travel to Jamaica without it!
This is why you need to start your vacation with the Club Mobay Arrival services! It gives you the first taste of the hospitality that Jamaica is known for. It is also the perfect oasis until you hit your resort destination! Club Mobay arrival service is available in Montego Bay at Sangster International Airport and in Kingston at Norman Manley International Airport. Be sure to book early, as spots are limited.
We booked Club Mobay for arrival and departure through Sandals. They did not send us a voucher for when we arrive? Is this something I should contact them about? TIA.
If it is booked through Sandals you should be OK. We always book direct so that we get the confirmation directly. You can always call Sandals to get the confirmation # and then chat with Mobay to confirm it.
Hi, are there any dos and don’ts you can recommend as a first-time visitor? Also, does Mobay offer transportation to and from the hotel? How far is the club Mobday from the actual door of the airplane? Are they disability-friendly? If so, how can they assist? Any transportation you can recommend that is safe and affordable?
Club Mobay is airport service only, they do not provide transport services to your hotel. After doing a chat with their customer service, I was able to confirm that they don’t offer any wheelchair assistance. Club Mobay is the in the arrival halls, and it is a fairly long walk. Contacting Sangster International airport would be your best bet to see about arranging wheelchair service from your arrival gate to the customs hall.
