While all of the Sandals resorts are beautiful and luxurious and come with an incredible range of inclusions, they do differ. The best Sandals resort for one person may not be the best for another. Check out these listings of the best Sandals resorts by category so you can find the one that’s right for you.

FYI, our picks for the best Sandals resorts are Sandals Dunn’s River, Sandals Saint Vincent, Sandals Grenada, Sandals Royal Caribbean, Sandals Grande St. Lucian, and Sandals Negril.

What is the Best Sandals Resorts?

When travelers ask for the “best” Sandals resort overall, what they’re really asking for is balance: beautiful beaches, strong food, modern rooms, great service, and a vibe that works for most couples.

Sandals Dunn’s River is the strongest all-around performer in the Sandals portfolio. As one of the newest resorts, everything feels fresh, from the modern room designs to the expansive pools and excellent restaurant lineup. It strikes a rare balance between lively and romantic, making it a great choice for both honeymoons and repeat Sandals guests. There service level here is also above most of the others with some of the most friendly and responsive staff.

Sandals Saint Vincent delivers a completely different kind of excellence. This is Sandals’ most nature-forward and refined resort, with dramatic mountain backdrops, crystal-clear water, and a quieter, more elevated atmosphere. It feels more like a luxury eco-resort than a traditional all-inclusive. The food is elevated and it is very spread out giving it a more secluded feel.

Sandals Grenada rounds out the top tier with its innovative design, exceptional pools, and strong dining. It’s one of the most “wow-factor” resorts Sandals has ever built and consistently ranks high with couples who want something memorable and stylish. It isn’t as modern as the other two, but has a charm to it that returning guest love.

What is the best value of Sandals Resorts?

Value doesn’t mean cheap, it means getting more than you expect for the price.

Sandals Ochi offers the widest range of room categories in the entire brand, which allows travelers to enter at the lowest price point while still enjoying Sandals inclusions. The size of the resort also means more dining options, multiple beaches, and a lively atmosphere.

Sandals Royal Caribbean punches above its weight by including access to a private offshore island, excellent water sports, and a quick and easy transfer from the airport. You also have access to Sandals Montego Bay, all for the same price. We find the suites here to be a great value, especially the newer suites in the back of the resort. You don’t get the oceanview, but you do get more modern rooms at a lower price.

Sandals Negril is a favorite for couples who care most about beach quality. While the resort itself is more understated, the value lies in the location: Seven Mile Beach is one of the best in the Caribbean. The rooms at this resort are almost all beach front and still some of the cheapest of any Sandals Resort.

Sandals Dunn’s River also earns a place here. While it’s more expensive, the quality jump in rooms, food, and amenities makes the upgrade feel justified.

ResortPrice RangeWhy It’s a Value
Sandals Ochi$Huge resort, many room tiers
Sandals Royal Caribbean$$Private island + access to Sandals Montego Bay
Sandals Negril$$Seven Mile Beach access

Best Sandals Resorts for Exceptional Beaches

When the beach is the main reason you’re choosing a Sandals resort, not all locations are created equal. The best beach-focused Sandals resorts share a few key traits: wide stretches of sand, swimmable water, minimal erosion, and space to actually relax without feeling crowded. The following resorts consistently stand out as the strongest beach destinations in the entire Sandals portfolio.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian delivers one of the most unique beach settings in the Sandals collection. Sitting on its own peninsula, the resort offers calm Caribbean waters on one side that is exceptionally calm, making it perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and floating for hours. In the middle of the beach has a more active vibe with music coming from the main pool, while the beaches on the sides are calm and relaxing.

Sandals Antigua has soft and light sand, with plenty of space between loungers so the beach never feels cramped. Water conditions are generally gentle, and the gradual entry makes it comfortable for long swims. The only con to this beach for some are the vendors that come by regularly.

Sandals Negril is located directly on Jamaica’s famous Seven Mile Beach, this resort offers a long, walkable shoreline with soft white sand and calm, shallow water. Sunsets in Negril are also among the best in the Caribbean, adding to its reputation as a true beach lover’s paradise. The sand does feel muddy once you walk into the water a few feet.

Sandals Saint Vincent offers a very different kind of beach experience, one that feels natural, untouched, and almost private. The beach here is framed by lush green mountains and crystal-clear water, creating a more secluded and serene atmosphere.

Sandals South Coast stands out for its sheer scale and seclusion. The resort sits on a long, natural stretch of coastline far from major towns, giving it a peaceful, unspoiled feel. The beach is wide, uncrowded, and ideal for couples who want space and privacy.

Sandals Dunn’s River is modern with new rooms and restaurants concepts. It is located close to some of the most iconic excursions in Jamaica and the customer service is top notch. Its not only the best Sandals Resort in Jamaica, its our favorite overall.

Sandals Royal Plantation is in many ways the classic, old-world gem of Jamaica’s Sandals lineup. This resort is smaller and more intimate with butler service for each room. The beachfront here is gentle with amazing service, and if you want more variety you can go nearby to Sandals Ochi.

Sandals South Coast sits on one of Jamaica’s longest stretches of beach that feels truly untouched, making it perfect for couples who want peace and privacy above all else.

Best Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is one of the most visually stunning islands in the Caribbean, famous for its dramatic landscapes, lush rainforests, and twin volcanic peaks known as the Pitons. When it comes to choosing a Sandals resort here, each property offers something special.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is arguably the best overall choice in Saint Lucia. The beach is pretty large, but more importantly is calm and views from the beachfront rooms are perfectly calming.

Sandals Regency La Toc is the largest of the resorts with parts perched atop hills with breathtaking panoramas of the Caribbean Sea and other parts near the beach. The sweeping views from this resort are unmatched. The beach here is quieter and more secluded, but with a bit more current, leading to days where watersports are unavailable. The resort is a great value, much less expensive that Sandals Grande St Lucian. The food is currently being updates with a new concept, Buccan.

Sandals Halcyon Beach offers a smaller, more intimate experience that will appeal to couples seeking simplicity and tranquility. The beach here has a softer, more gentle shoreline and is great for swimming and romantic strolls. The resort’s layout and ambiance lend themselves to a slower pace, making it a great choice for honeymooners or anyone craving a quieter getaway. It is also in the middle of the other two resorts, making it easy to visit them to find more variety.

Best Sandals Resort for Watersports

For many couples, water sports are a highlight of a Caribbean getaway: gliding across turquoise water in a kayak, catching a breeze on a sailboat, or floating above vibrant coral while snorkeling. While most Sandals resorts offer complimentary non-motorized water activities, some stand out above the rest thanks to their location, water conditions, and variety of options. These three resorts consistently rank among the best in the entire brand for water-based fun.

Sandals Saint Vincent sits on a naturally sheltered bay with remarkably clear, calm water that makes almost every activity feel accessible. A few times a week the watersports team will offer guided kayak tours to the nearby bat cave. Motorized water sports are also offered here.

Sandals Negril is iconic for its beach location on Seven Mile Beach making it perfect for water sports. You can enjoy all the usual watersports inclusions like kayaking and stand up paddleboarding. In our opinion, it is the best resort in Jamaica for the included snorkeling trips. Additionally it has motorized water sports with tubing being very popular.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian offers calm, swimmable beach, and the bay’s shape creates a natural playground for kayaking, pedal boating, and paddleboarding. Sandals Grande St. Lucian also often features sailboat and hobie cat excursions that take advantage of the steady Caribbean breezes.

Sandals Barbados sits on a beautiful stretch of white sand with calm swimming conditions that are especially inviting in the warmer months.

When it comes to pool experiences, not all Sandals resorts are created equal. Some deliver architectural wow-factor, others offer multiple distinct pool environments, and a few create settings that are perfect for lounging, socializing, or romantic night swims.

Sandals Royal Curaçao raises the bar for pool design with large infinity edges, multiple terrace levels, and panoramic ocean views that feel almost cinematic.

Sandals Grenada may not have the modern touches of the other two Sandals Resorts on this list, but what they do have, they execute very well. Its classic Sandals food done well.

Sandals Resorts are located on some of the best islands in the world for scuba diving.

Sandals Royal Curaçao has clear water, healthy reefs, and easy dive conditions. The island is known for excellent visibility year-round, and many dive sites are close to shore, allowing for relaxed boat rides and longer bottom times.

Beyond the sculptures, the surrounding reefs feature strong coral formations, interesting topography, and frequent sightings of turtles and tropical fish.

Sandals Saint Vincent appeals to divers looking for something more untouched and less trafficked. Saint Vincent’s dive sites are far less crowded than many Caribbean destinations, giving divers a sense of exploration and discovery. The underwater environment here is known for volcanic formations, healthy marine ecosystems, and excellent visibility.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian offers a well-rounded scuba experience that pairs reliable diving conditions with dramatic scenery. It also is the only Sandals Resort in Saint Lucia where the scuba boat leaves the resort and doesn’t require a drive to a marina.

Sandals Regency La Toc provides access to the same strong dive environment as Grande St. Lucian, but at a lower price.

Best Sandals Resort for Golf

Another perk Sandals guests can take advantage of is Golf. At a few resorts, green fees are included in your stay.

Best Sandals Resorts for Snorkeling

Snorkeling at its best combines easy access from shore, clear water, abundant marine life, and minimal waves. Below, we explore the top Sandals resorts that deliver exceptional snorkel experiences for couples who want more than just a quick swim.

Sandals Negril is the best place to go snorkeling in Jamaica. With a quick boat ride you are in the middle of a reef with plenty of fish to see.

Sandals Royal Curaçao takes snorkeling to another level thanks to Curaçao’s spectacular reef systems and clear water year-round.

Sandals Grenada offers something truly special thanks to its proximity to the Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park. Additionally, the beach at Sandals Grenada is a great place to snorkel in since the beach is surrounded by large rocks, creating a natural habitat for fish.

Best Sandals Resorts for Older Couples

When I have older couples in mind, I recommend destination that are flat and have elevators for the accommodations.

Sandals Grenada is a fairly flat resorts that is easy to access from the airport. I recommend one of the walkout rooms in the Pink Gin area since it is more flat than the rest of the resort. The resort also has a lot of variety for anyone.

Sandals Halcyon Beach is a resort that is flat and relaxed. It is a smaller resort and chances are you wont find a DJ or late night entertainment.

Sandals Dunn’s River isn’t as quiet as Royal Plantation or Halcyon Beach but its modern amenities, thoughtful design, and excellent service make it a strong choice for couples who want easy transitions between relaxation and light activity.

Sandals Negril is spread accross the beach so most of the rooms have a beach view. The flat terrain makes it easy to get around.

Best Sandals Resorts for Gay Couples

While every Sandals property is adults-only and couples-focused, these destinations are especially well-regarded for embracing diversity. Keep in mind that while some islands are not very LGBTQ friedly, everyone can expect to be treated with respect while on resort.

Sandals Royal Curaçao stands out as a top choice for gay couples thanks to Curaçao’s reputation as one of the Caribbean’s most open and LGBTQ-friendly islands.

Best Sandals Resorts for Swim-Up Suites

Swim-up suites are one of the most popular room categories in the Sandals portfolio because they combine private, direct access to water with all-inclusive luxury.

Sandals Dunn’s River has just a few swim-up rooms in the Tufa building. They are steps away from the rest of the action, but give you the option to be part of the fun or more relaxed and secluded while still being able to listen to the resort activities.

Sandals Royal Caribbean offers swim-up suites at a lower price point. There are several different area with swim up rooms like the Crystal Lagoon Hideaway swim up suites which I prefer.

Sandals Royal Barbados has the largest amount of swim up suites, with a large portion of their rooms having this feature.

Sandals Royal Curaçao rounds out the list with swim-up suites that emphasize relaxation and design. The pools here are expansive and thoughtfully styled, and the swim-up rooms feel like private retreats within that larger aquatic landscape. A standout are the Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows, which are nestled around a heart shaped pool.

Best Sandals Resorts for Rondoval Suites

Sandals’ Rondoval suites are in a category of their own. These round, standalone villas often include spacious interiors, private plunge pools, 360° views, and all the elevated amenities that make a romantic getaway feel truly special.

At Sandals South Coast , the Rondoval suites feel like private sanctuaries in their own little village. They provide romantic seclusion and are all positioned around a river like pool.

Sandals Grenada offers Rondoval’s sprinkled throughout the resort, putting them in the middle of the action.

Sandals Dunn’s River’s Rondoval suites feature contemporary design and thoughtful amenities that elevate comfort and romance. They are located directly behind the main lobby giving them a secluded feel while still being close to everything.

Best Sandals Resort Spas

While every Sandals resort offers a Red Lane® Spa with signature treatments, a few properties elevate the experience through setting, design, variety of treatments, and overall ambiance.

Sandals Royal Barbados has a spa that is only a few year old and set the blue print for the new Sandals Resort Spas. Treatment rooms are situated with pools and fountains surrounding the area. There are both indoor and outdoor treatment areas.

Sandals Saint Vincent offers outdoor treatment areas where the sounds of the small river and gentle breezes enhance every moment. The spa features a cold plunge and hot tub, as well as steam rooms and saunas. Before or after your treatment, you can enjoy the quiet atmosphere in the spa pool.

Sandals Dunn’s River is nearly identical to the Sandals Saint Vincent Spa, but it isn’t as secluded, making it more convenient.

Best Sandals Resorts on a Budget

While “budget” and Sandals don’t always seem like natural partners, some properties in the brand offer great value without compromising the all-inclusive luxury experience.

Sandals Ochi is one of the most budget-friendly options in the Sandals portfolio, largely because of its wide range of room categories and larger property footprint. The further from the beach, the more the price drops and you get more bang for your buck.

Sandals Negril offers great value with most guest getting a beach front view without a high price tag. While Negril’s facilities may not be as new as some newer Sandals builds, the beach here is consistently ranked among the best in the Caribbean.

Sandals Royal Caribbean combines short transfers and a unique beach setting without a steep price point.

Sandals Regency La Toc rounds out the budget category, not because it’s “cheap,” but because it often lands at a lower price tier compared with its sister resort, Sandals Grande St. Lucian. I’ve seen some great deals for this resort, even for the higher butler-level suites.

Best Sandals Resorts for Excursions

If your ideal Sandals vacation includes exploring beyond the resort, immersing yourself in local culture, nature, or island adventure, some destinations simply outperform others.

Sandals Dunn’s River is one of the strongest choices for excursion-minded couples because it sits near some of Jamaica’s most iconic and varied attractions. Just steps from the resort, you can visit Dunn’s River Falls, the Blue Hole, and other popular excursion,s including river tubing down scenic rivers, ziplining through the rainforest canopy, horseback riding on the beach, and exploring local markets and culture in nearby Ocho Rios.

Sandals Ochi offers a similarly strong base for excursions, but the resort is at a much different price point.

Sandals Royal Curaçao is a standout for couples who want cultural and underwater adventures. Curaçao’s capital, Willemstad, is a UNESCO World Heritage site just a short drive from the resort and rewards visitors with colorful Dutch-Caribbean architecture, waterfront cafes, art galleries, and vibrant local culture.

On the water side, Curaçao is known for its exceptional diving and snorkeling spots, including dramatic reefs and clear waters that are easily accessible by short boat rides. Other popular excursions include guided hikes in Christoffel National Park, jeep safaris through rugged terrain, and visits to flamingo-filled salt flats.

Best Sandals Resorts for a Romantic, Quiet Escape

When the goal of your trip is connection, calm, and uninterrupted time together, some Sandals resorts offer an atmosphere that feels almost whisper-quiet compared to the livelier, social properties in the brand. Keep in mind the suite you choose can make a real difference.

Sandals Royal Plantation is often the first name that comes to mind for couples seeking a truly peaceful escape and since every room includes butler service, everyone gets amazing service.

Sandals Halcyon Beach brings a mellow, breezy vibe to the category of quiet escapes. True to its name, Halcyon Beach offers a calm and relaxed ambiance that feels like a lull in the rhythm of everyday life. Guests can visit other resorts nearby to get even more variety.

Sandals Saint Vincent elevates the romantic-quiet escape to an almost cinematic level. Set against a backdrop of lush hills and pristine water, this resort feels far removed from everyday noise.

Best Sandals Resorts for Luxury

Sandals keeps upping their game when it comes to luxury.

Sandals Saint Vincent stands at the best of Sandals’ luxury offerings. From the moment you arrive, you sense a different kind of atmosphere, one defined by privacy, dramatic natural beauty, and thoughtful design.

Sandals Dunn’s River is similarly luxurious with a newer design delivering polished interiors, sleek public spaces, and a cohesive aesthetic that leans into modern comfort.

Sandals Grenada isn’t the most modern resort, but the location and feel earn its spot on this list.

For travelers who view luxury as a blend of comfort, atmosphere, exclusivity, and impeccable service, these Sandals resorts rank among the very best—not just in the Caribbean, but in adults-only all-inclusive travel worldwide. Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply a getaway that feels extraordinary, these destinations deliver experiences that are elevated, memorable, and genuinely luxurious.

Best Sandals Resorts for Butler Service

Butler service is one of the most coveted inclusions at Sandals. From unpacking your luggage and making dinner reservations to delivering room service, butlers can elevate every moment of your stay.

Sandals Royal Plantation sets the standard for classic butler service within the Sandals portfolio. They also have the most affordable butler suites.

Sandals Saint Vincent is one of the best Sandals Resort so adding Butler service makes it that much better.

Sandals Dunn’s River has some amazing butler teams that provide exceptional service. The compact design of the resort makes it easier for them to always be close by when you need them.

Sandals Negril also has an amazing butler team, and they can help you get reservations at Beaches Negril for dinner as well.

I don’t think the Butler service is worth it if you are staying at Sandals Ochi since they do not reserve your beach chairs for you.

Best Sandals Resorts for Entry-Level Rooms

One of the best things about Sandals is that whichever room you book, you get all the inclusions. Some resorts have entry-level rooms that are outdated and depressing, but for these resorts, even the most basic room is worth booking.

The Travertine Luxury Room at Sandals Dunn’s River is a great value. The only reason it isn’t more expensive is because it faces away from the beach. It has a great layout and is centrally located.

All of the entry level rooms at Sandals Saint Vincent are great options, better than most rooms at other Sandals Resorts.

Sandals Royal Caribbean is another excellent choice for entry-level value because the rooms that are further from the beach are very affordable but were only built a few years ago.

Sandals South Coast has a lot of great rooms and even the most affordable room is close to the beach.

Best Sandals Resorts for Beachfront Rooms

For us, waking up to the sound of waves and stepping straight onto the sand is the ultimate Caribbean experience.

Sandals South Coast is spread accross the beach allowing for almost all of the room to be beachfront.

Sandals Negril is iconic for its Seven Mile Beach frontage, and almost every room has a view of the beach. Since the resort faces West, guest get amazing views, especially those on the higher floors.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian blends sweeping coastal panoramas with timeless Caribbean charm in its beachfront. On one side of the resort, guests have views of the calm waters in Rodney Harbor, while the other side has views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Best Sandals Resorts for Private Pools

Private pool suites are one of the most coveted accommodations in the Sandals portfolio because they combine ultimate privacy, luxury, and seamless indoor–outdoor living.

Sandals Grenada is one of the resorts have has a lot of selection when choosing a suite with a private pool. There are Rondoval Suites that have private plunge pools, suites with sky pool suites with stunning views and other Butler suites with private pools throughout the property.

Sandals Saint Vincent has some of the best suites of all Sandals Resorts including Beachfront villas, recently added garden villas with private pools and under construction are the Rondoval suites that will have private pools as well.

Sandals Negril has our favorite rooms with a private pool. These are just a few Sky pool suites that are large, modern, and have a pool on the 3rd and 4th floors. The pools is always inviting and at sunset there is no better place to be.

Sandals Royal Caribbean has a brand new building with private pools. They have sky pool suites and beachfront walkout rooms with private pools. They also have the only Overwater Villas with private pools in any Sandals Resort.

Best Sandals Resort Bars

One of the reasons people love Sandals is that the booze is all-inclusive. Here are the best Sandals Resorts for the bars.

At Sandals Dunn’s River you’ll find everything from stylish lounges to energetic poolside bars where classic cocktails and modern mixes are always on the menu. The Rum Bar is a must-visit for lovers of local Jamaican spirits—featuring flights of island rums and expert guidance on tasting profiles that highlight Jamaica’s deep rum culture. Sandals Royal Bahamian rounds out the list with a classic tennis and pickleball experience paired with easy logistics. It’s a close getaway from the US and not as hot as other destinations.

Whether you want friendly games with your partner, spirited competition with fellow guests, or a morning rally followed by beachside drinks, these Sandals resorts deliver memorable pickleball and tennis experiences—proof that luxury vacations can be both relaxing and active.

Best Sandals Resorts for Easy Flights from the U.S.

When planning a Caribbean escape, flight convenience can make or break the experience—especially for couples heading out on a long weekend, honeymoon, or quick getaway.

Sandals Montego Bay has easy flight access from the United States. Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is a major Caribbean hub with frequent direct flights from cities up and down the East Coast, throughout the Midwest, and even seasonal service from West Coast markets. Once you land, the resort is only about 10 minutes away, so you’ll be on the sand faster than you might expect.

Sandals Royal Caribbean shares the same strong travel advantages because it’s located in the same airport corridor. The short transfer from MBJ into the resort means early breakfasts on the beach and late evenings by the lagoon without feeling worn out from travel.

Sandals Royal Bahamian is another top pick for travelers focused on flight ease, particularly if you’re flying from the U.S. East Coast or South. Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau offers frequent nonstop service from a wide range of U.S. cities, often with shorter flight times than many other Caribbean islands.

Why These Resorts Are Best for U.S. Flight Access

  • Frequent Nonstop Flights: All three resorts are served by airports with abundant nonstop service from many U.S. cities.
  • Short Airport Transfers: Quick rides from runway to resort mean more time enjoying your getaway.
  • Major Airline Options: Because these destinations are popular, you’ll often find multiple carriers flying in—including mainline and budget-friendly options.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Early morning and evening flights are more common, letting you plan travel that works with your schedule, not the other way around.

Best Sandals Resorts for West Coast Travelers

For travelers departing from the U.S. West Coast—whether Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or Phoenix—flight availability and ease of connections can significantly shape your Caribbean getaway.

Sandals Dunn’s River is one of the most accessible Sandals resorts for those coming from the West Coast because it benefits from Jamaica’s strong airlift and routing flexibility. While there are no direct nonstop flights from most West Coast cities to Jamaica, major hubs like Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, and Charlotte typically offer frequent connections into Montego Bay (MBJ), which is the airport most commonly used for travel to Dunn’s River. And if you’re going to come all this way, it better be to one of the best Sandals Resorts.

Sandals Royal Caribbean also ranks highly for West Coast travel logistics because it shares Montego Bay’s major airport access.

If you are coming from the West Coast, you can get to most islands with a red-eye flight or stay overnight in Miami or Atlanta.

Best Sandals Resorts for Corporate Group

Some Sandals Resorts are not the best for Corporate groups, especially if they lean too far on the romantic end.

Sandals Royal Bahamian stands out as one of the most practical choices for corporate groups—especially for U.S. and Canadian teams—because of its excellent airport access and short transfer time from Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS). There are lots of things to do and the resort is more lively. We like that guest can easily explore the rest of the island and do other activities like going to the nearby casino.

Sandals Barbados is another exceptional corporate group destination because it combines ample meeting facilities with a lively social atmosphere and strong dining variety.

Sandals Royal Curaçao blends stunning scenery with modern spaces and strong water-based activity options, making it an excellent choice for corporate escapes that want to mix productivity with recreation. Curaçao’s Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage destination with plenty of culture and history to enrich your group’s itinerary, and the resort itself supports corporate needs with flexible venues and engaging social spaces that help teams connect organically.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian rounds out the list with a combination, since it allows for a fun vibe. The main pool and beach area around it are perfect for an adult group, and you won’t feel strange at a couples-only resort.
