Some of the most beautiful Caribbean settings are in St. Vincent and St. Lucia, and the Sandals resorts there take full advantage. If you’re trying to decide between the two destinations, here is our comparison of Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia.

One of the biggest differences between Sandals Saint Vincent and Saint Lucia is that there is one resort in St. Vincent but three in St. Lucia. This gives you a huge range of amenities, restaurants, and bars to try when you stay at any Sandals in St. Lucia.

Saint Vincent is an off-the-beaten path destination, while Saint Lucia is a bit more well-known. However, both islands offer amazing scenery with lush mountainous landscapes and tropical foliage combined with beautiful beaches and clear water. In fact, both have been compared to Hawaii.

Sandals Saint Vincent is newer than the Saint Lucia Sandals resorts, having just opened in 2024. It features the “Sandals 2.0” concept, which elevates everything even more for a brand that was already pretty luxurious. This includes multiple new dining and accommodation options.

We loved Sandals St. Vincent when we visited, and it is now one of our favorite Sandals resorts. We especially liked the beautiful grounds, pools, rooms, service, and food. We also really liked the Sandals resorts in St. Lucia.

Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia Reviews

Sandals St. Vincent is rated 4.5 on Google. Sandals St. Vincent reviews consistently mention the excellent service provided by the staff there, who exude warm and friendly hospitality, in addition to the gorgeous setting and great food.

Sandals Grande St Lucian and Sandals Halcyon Beach are also rated 4.5 on Google, while Sandals Regency La Toc is rated 4.3. Guest reviews love the beaches, beautiful scenery, activities, and food.

Getting to Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia

While these islands are not very far apart—St. Vincent is in between St. Lucia and Grenada—it can be easier to get to St. Lucia because there are more flights there from the US. Since St. Vincent is a lesser-visited destination, it can be harder to find flights here.

Once on the islands, Sandals St. Vincent is about 40 minutes from the airport, and the Sandals in St. Lucia are about 90 minutes from the airport.

Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia Accommodations

The resorts in St. Vincent and St. Lucia offer a range of types of rooms and suites, from luxury to club to butler level. You can find poolside rooms, oceanfront and oceanview rooms, gardenview rooms, swim-up rooms, beachfront walkout rooms, and more.

There are also overwater bungalows at both Sandals Saint Vincent and Sandals Grande St. Lucian, but they are different. The ones at Sandals Saint Vincent are the first-ever two-story overwater villas, while at Sandals Grande St. Lucian they’re on one level. Both are luxurious and romantic and offer direct water access from large private sundecks and come with 24-hour inroom dining and personal butler service.

Only Sandals St. Vincent offers suites with separate media rooms, beachfront butler villas with private pools, and beachfront two-bedroom butler villas with private pools.

At the Sandals in St. Lucia, you can also find Rondoval butler suites with private pool sancturaries, the amazing new Rondoval Butler Sky Villas, two-story oceanfront butler suites (some with private pools), and Sunset Bluff Millionaire butler villas with private pools.

Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia Food and Drink

Although we found the food in St. Lucia to be very good, Sandals Saint Vincent has some new dining options that are really wonderful. Sandals St Vincent restaurants include Buccan, which serves delicious local dishes; Parasol, which offers small bites; and great Italian, Asian, and seafood options. There are 11 total. Sandals St. Vincent also has 9 bars.

However, you’ll have a lot more choice if you stay at a Sandals in St. Lucia, since there are 3 resorts to try. This gives you a total of 27 restaurants and 21 bars. Sandals Grande St. Lucian has the most restaurants onsite.

Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia Amenities and Activities

A big difference between Sandals Saint Vincent and St Lucia activities is that you can golf in St. Lucia, but not St. Vincent. All of the resorts in St Lucia offer complimentary green fees and transportation to an 18-hole championship golf course.

At both Sandals St. Vincent and Sandals Grande St. Lucian, the water is calm enough for all types of watersports including motorized options like waterskiing. You also get the full range of complimentary nonmotorized watersports including scuba diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and Hobie Cat sailing.

Both St Lucia and St Vincent are great for scuba diving and snorkeling.

There are multiple pools and whirlpools at each of the three Sandals in St. Lucia, as well as beautiful beaches. The beach at Sandals Grande St Lucian is a mile long and fronts the calmest water on the island, while the other resorts have smaller but also stunning beaches along somewhat rougher water.

Sandals St Vincent has four pools, each with its own vibe, including a really nice two-level beachfront infinity pool. The white sand beach here is lovely and fronts the clear blue Caribbean. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Fun fact: the natural beach is black sand, but they brought white sand in.

In addition to land sports like tennis, pickleball, and beach volleyball, there are also bikes you can ride around the property on at Sandals St Vincent. The Sandals in St. Lucia have a variety of land activities including tennis, beach volleyball, and golf.

All of the resorts feature complimentary fitness centers as well as full-service spas, which cost extra.

You can book area excursions at Sandals St Vincent and the Sandals resorts in St Lucia, and we highly recommend this. Both islands are gorgeous and offer plenty to see and do.

Sandals Saint Vincent vs Saint Lucia Price

Sandals Saint Vincent is more expensive than the Sandals in St. Lucia. Sandals St. Vincent prices start at $451 per person per night, while Sandals Grande St. Lucian starts at $346 per person per night.

Is Sandals St Vincent worth it?

In our opinion, yes, Sandals St. Vincent is worth it. The newest Sandals resort, it features a lot of new dining concepts as well as super-luxurious accommodations and friendly service in a truly stunning setting.

Which Sandal is better in St. Lucia?

The answer to this depends on what type of experience you’re looking for. All three of the Sandals in St. Lucia are wonderful, but we loved the ambiance at Sandals Regency la Toc the best. Sandals Halcyon Beach is quiet and peaceful, while Sandals Grande St. Lucian is on the best beach for watersports. No matter which you choose, you can go to all three, so you really can’t go wrong.

Is Sandals St. Vincent couple only?

While Sandals resorts are designed to provide romantic settings for honeymooners and couples on vacation, it isn’t required to be a couple to visit Sandals St. Vincent. However, most rooms and suites are priced per double occupancy and only have one king bed. But there are some rooms with separate media rooms with a couch, as well as two-bedroom beachfront villa suites.
