Loews Royal Pacific Resort: Hotel Guide & Review
If you are anything like me when you plan a vacation, you spend a lot of time researching your destination. One of the most important decisions you make is where you are going to stay during your vacation. If you are heading to Universal Studios in Orlando, then you need to know why you need to stay at Loews Royal Pacific Resort.
One of my absolute favorite memories of family vacation travel was our trip to Florida. We wanted to visit Universal Studios Orlando for a long time, and we were finally able to make the trip. We combined a college road trip for oldest with a fun family vacation and it was the best time ever! Enter the Loews Royal Pacific Resort Orlando, our recommendation for an amazing accommodation.
I know a lot of people think that staying on-site will cost more and choose to stay off property. I have to say that the money we saved by not having to use transportation to and from the parks far outweighed the higher price tag to stay on property. Combined with great service and a gorgeous view, it was the right decision for us.
The grounds themselves and the decor of the hotel were really nice. You really felt like you were on an island holiday.

FAQ’s About Loews Royal Pacific Resort Hotel
Before I get to the benefits of staying at the resort hotel, here are some FAQ’s you may have about the resort. I hope they give you great information so you can make an informed decision about staying on-site.
What is the average room rate?
With over 1000 rooms in the resort, your room rate will vary. There are basic rooms that start at $339, a water view room for $364(this is the room category that we stayed in). There are also club level rooms starting at $454 per night, and suites starting at $959. They also have a Jurassic Park themed room for kids. Is it wrong that, as an adult, I want to stay in it too?
How much does it cost to park at Loews Royal Pacific Resort?
As of July 2023, the current parking costs are as follows: Hotel guests pay $28 (plus tax) per vehicle per night for self-parking. For anyone visiting during the day, five minutes or less is complimentary, up to 30 minutes is $10, and anything over that is $45 for the day.
While I did not enjoy paying to park at the hotel where I already spent money for a room, in the end, it was totally worth it not to have to drive to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. They had a nice walking path, as well as a water taxi.
What time is check-in & check-out at the resort?
Loews Royal Pacific Resort check-in at 4 pm, and check-out is at 11 am. You may check out by television, phone, express check-out luggage set in the lobby or traditional check-out at the front desk.
Since we drove to the resort from PA, we arrived after check-in time, so we were able to head straight to our room.
What Is The Cancellation Policy at Loews Royal Pacific Resort?
Standard Cancellation Policy
- 6 days or more days prior to arrival: Full Refund
- 0- 5 days prior to arrival: Charged one night’s room rate plus tax
PLEASE NOTE: Deposits are forfeited if guest checks out of the hotel prior to the check-out date.
Does Loews Royal Pacific hotel offer free breakfast?
For club level and suites, free perks include continental breakfast (7:00 am to 10: 00 am), afternoon snacks (12:00 pm to 3:00 pm), hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm), and a sweets hour (8:00 pm to 9:00 pm).
Does the pool area have a waterslide?
Unfortunately, they do not have a waterslide, but their pool is SO fantastic. You won’t miss having one. This pool was beyond heavenly. A bar for the adults, and lots of fun spots for the kids, it was a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day enjoying the parks.
The pool area also serves some really delicious tropical-themed drinks. Nothing like a pool day with an upgrade.
5 Benefits Of Staying At Loews Royal Pacific Hotel
Once you make the decision to stay at this hotel, you will be glad that you did. Here are 5 great reasons why you made the perfect choice.
Benefit #1: Included Fast Passes
Valued at $80 per person, these express passes made waiting in line for certain attractions a snap. With your wait time cut in half for most rides, it was worth staying on-site.
There is a kiosk in the hotel lobby that makes getting your picture for the Express Passes easy. That leaves you more time to have fun in the park.
Bonus tip: Getting a lanyard is worth the expense. Keeps your pass and ticket handy, tucks easily under your shirt when you are on rides, and the plastic keeps them dry. Score!
Benefit #2: Walking Distance To The Local Theme Attractions
I love that you could literally walk to the main entrance in under 10 minutes. No worrying about forgetting where you park. No fighting crazy drivers. Just a short walk on a beautiful pathway, and you were there. The pathway was lighted at night, and there was security patrolling, as well. And if you didn’t want to walk, you could take the boat.
Because of where the path leads to, it is easy to pick which side of the park you want to start with. We tended to lean towards the Islands of Adventure first thing because that is where the Jurassic Park attraction is located, and then hit the other side in the afternoon.
Benefit #3: Multiple On-site Restaurants & Bars
While we only ate at an on-site restaurant one time, it was so worth it. We enjoyed dinner at Jake’s American Bar, and it was SO good. And, because we stayed on-site, we were able to charge it directly to our room with our key.
Other place to eat include: The Islands Dining Room, Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar, Bula Bar & Grille, and the Tuk Tuk Market. There is something for every family member and every taste craving.
Benefit #4: Early Admission To Hogsmeade and the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter
This was the main reason why we chose to spend the extra money to stay on-site. And worth every single cent. Seeing this area when there was lower crowds was absolutely amazing!
I will have to warn you though, both times we got to the gate at 8am, the Forbidden Journey ride was not up and operational. The first time we ended up checking out a few things around the ride. The second time, we just got in the queue, and it opened not too long after that.
At the same time, early admission gave you a chance to get great photos before the areas got too crowded. And you could scope out places to eat before you are actually hungry.
Benefit #5: The Amazing Views Of The Park
I absolutely cannot say enough about the view we had from our room. Since this was our first trip here, I contacted the resort ahead of time to request a park view. And they really delivered on it.
Keep in mind, requesting a room at any hotel is exactly that: a request. Nothing is ever guaranteed. It was nice, however, to see that the staff at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort Orlando took pains to honor the request. It was so cool at night to see the park lit up and hear the sounds of lots of fun.
