Cocktails & Sunsets 10.22.23

It’s Sunday again! Not quite sure where time has been going lately. Everywhere I turn, Christmas decorations are showing up in stores, including my own. I am not quite ready for the holiday season yet. I still want to enjoy Fall weather and Fall decorations and Fall food. Yes, I really do love Fall!

I am not fond of the dark, however, and wish it wouldn’t be dark so early. Nights lately seem so long, and I am not sure as to why they are bothering me more than ever this year.

On the bright side, my youngest is home this weekend and we are a family of four. Tonight is going to be great, as we are headed to Philly to attend the Eagles game! YAY! This lady loves her football, so when I get the chance to see my birds in person, it is a special treat.

Hopefully they have gotten their act together after last weekend’s ridiculous loss and are ready to play. It is going to be a tough one, so they better be on their A game. No one wants to see a loss, especially when you are there in person.

Now it’s time to figure out all the layers I am going to need for the game. And to find my fuzzy socks.

Speaking of work, it is still hard to believe that I am going into my 17th holiday season with Barnes & Noble. It will be weird this year, as we are in a temporary store while our current store is being completed remodeled and renovated. It has been a very challenging time helping our customers understand that we are a smaller space and don’t have everything we did at the old store.

Which, in turn, is exhausting to deal with. I try to be pleasant but sometimes I think I get too exasperated. And I don’t like that. Part of it is that I miss just solely being children’s lead. That position always gave me SO much pleasure at work: helping kids & parents & grandparents to find a kid’s next favorite read. Believe me, there is no feeling like it!

I am also missing my time with hubs when we are at Sandals Resorts. This time of year is hectic for us both, and I would much rather just be on a beach somewhere.

Well, I better start getting ready to head out for the game soon. Have to make sure I have enough clothes, snacks, drinks, & everything else. Happy Sunday! See you next time.
