Holy moly, May is almost over already! I can’t believe how time is flying. But at the same time, it is going SO slowly. Probably because it is only a few more weeks until our favorite family vacation to Wildwood. YAY!
It’s hard to believe that last week was Mother’s Day. This holiday hasn’t been the same for me for quite some time now, but not because of anything my husband or kids did. They make it special in the sense that they know just what I need to get through the day. I try to not let things bother me, but I think if I could skip this holiday, I would gladly do it. That is neither here nor there, and I know that I am not the only one out there that struggles with it. I take some comfort in that, and hope that if you are in the same boat as me, please take a moment to leave a comment and share how you get through it.
But back to the happy! And when I say happy, I mean, let’s talk Wildwood.
Every year I think that I can’t get more excited about going, and each year I surprise myself even more with how much I look forward to it. I get a lot of flak from people when I mention that I absolutely adore my Wildwood vacations. Some feel like Wildwood is the “Ghetto” of Summer vacationing.
Well, we are all entitled to our opinions, I guess. All I know is how much we LOVE going. From early morning walks on the beach.
If you spend time on the beach during the day, Jersey Family Fun has this guide to New Jersey beaches and beach tags for 2023.
To delicious breakfast items.
To crazy & intense games of miniature golf at Starlux Mini Golf.
And, of course, long & fun evenings enjoying the Boardwalk. Who doesn’t love spending time on the amusement piers?
Our family trip to Wildwood is one where we can all relax and not think of anything beyond whether or not we should go swimming or perhaps take a nap. I get the chance to get caught up on my reading and since I am a bookseller, I generally have a whole stack I take with me.
My husband, who never rests, will actually slow down and relax when we are there. Although we do have to remind him sometimes to not check his emails or to answer the phone. He has such a sense of ownership when it comes to his projects, that it is hard for him to let go. It is generally easier to get him to do that when we leave the country completely, so I am ready for Barbados in July.
But first, let’s get ready to enjoy Wildwood. I would love to hear which vacation is your favorite to go on with your family. Leave a comment, maybe I will find some inspiration for a new place to travel.
