Halloween Board books recommendations

I am at that point in midlife where I no longer have little kids. But as a bookseller, I am just bursting with ideas for book recommendations. I love working in the kids’ department, and holiday books are always a favorite of mine. Today I am sharing some ideas for parents, grandparents, and friends that want to gift for Halloween, but don’t want to give candy. Halloween board books are the perfect choice!

Let’s get started with these amazing Halloween board books you can add to any Halloween basket for your favorite toddler.

Spooky Pookie by Sandra Boyton

Sandra is always a favorite of mine, and this Halloween title is no exception.

What will little Pookie decide to be for Halloween this year? Pookie tries on costumes one by one, but somehow can’t find the right thing. The resolution to Pookie’s dilemma will delight toddlers and their caregivers alike. Told with Sandra Boynton’s charm and pizzazz, Spooky Pookie is a Halloween classic. Boo!

Tonight when it’s dark
we will walk down our street.
We will visit our friends.
You can say, “Trick or Treat!”

This is really a great idea. As a grandparent I like the suggestion of something other than candy and books can be entertaining as well as a learning experience.
